How To Take Home The Interiors At Upstate NY Hotels

When you think of New York, you probably think: big, loud city filled with people and concrete. Well, actually, that’s just New York City. Within hours of this said city, there exists sprawling natural beauty riddled with crystal clear waterfalls, snow-topped mountains, and foliage-lined drives. It’s called Upstate… look it up.

Our Upstate NY hotels are some of our best-kept secrets. It’s not only the fact that they’re found amidst serene nature, or that they all seem to have delicious locally sourced restaurants and fireplaces for s’mores, it’s their perfectly curated and highly Instagram-worthy interiors that make them so gosh darn charming.

As someone who recently moved into a new New York City apartment (also known as a box), I wanted to get my hands on some of these warming interiors. Why not try to turn my small abode into one a real-estate broker would at least call ‘cozy.’

So, as I do, I reached out to our Upstate hotels and started asking around. And boy, do I have some treasures for you.

The Arnold House, The DeBruce, The North Branch Inn and Nine River Road

Co-founders and owners, Kirsten and Sims Foster do all of the interior design for these four sister hotels. They share that, “Every one of our buildings has a story, a history and a way forward. We try to connect to that history and continue the story both through the branding and programming of the hotel as well as through the design itself. Ultimately, for us, it is always about the place and our community, and the design has to make sense based on where we are.”
